From Glacier to River, A view of a Lost Iceage

A snap shot of the kids "gazing" down  vally to Gletch
(not very visible but in the 3rd " top window"
on the rail in front of the kids)
on the west side of Furka Pass at 2400m
This is where the  river Rhone starts it's journey to the
Mediteranian Sea
On the eastern side the melting glacier gives "birth"
to the river Rhine
Above is a photo of The Rhone Glacier from 1857
taken from Gletch and up. Where the glacier start
cascading  over the edge and down the vally is the level of
wher the kids are sitting looking down. You can just about
see the road to the right on the old photo, leading up to
where the Hotel Belveder  was built in 1882

Here is the glacier with the Belveder Hotel
so still a lot of ice after 1882

This is what it looks like today, no glacier
I know, this was supposed to be about a LO,
but a reminder to us all about global warming
and how visible it is :(

Back to the LO, a few close ups
I made my journaling in a small book held by the
Scarecrow

The  Wild Ibex(Wild goat) was bought
at the  Furka Glacier shop
here a close up
I used a lot of buttons on this LO, one is of the alpine
flower Edelweiss (bottom right)
A few bits and bobs
Prima flowers, TH die cuts, Pebbles Inc text ribbon,
Dylusion Ink spray London Blue, Acrylic paint,
Pink Paislee tag, G45  Wizard of Oz paper,
a small coke bottle button from Dress it Up

I'm entering with this LO here

  3. Amazing!

Kram
