Recycled at ARTastic

Time is moving on far to fast.

Not sure about you but I can't belive it is almost July

ARTastic has a great challenge with a difference this month

called "Some Environmental Inspiration"

This is what it said:
World Environment Day is celebrated June 5th, 

so in honour of this day I thought we might all participate 

in a challenge with a difference.

 Introducing Robin's Nest by environmental artist  

 Susan Schenk 

 Criteria - the use of recycled material to feature prominently 

on your work (ie minimal commercial products). 

 Hint - think ephemera and recycled items

 Here is my LO

  I have used an old Curiosity Killed the cat record

The cover is used as the bg and the record it self on top.

I used tissue paper with glue and seal to cover the record

and painted with copper acrylic and  3 matallic Distress stains

Left overs from a hexagon mesh die was glued on top and more 

 acrylic paint, distress and Cosmic shimmerz was added

 

 The gears are made of a soda can and TH  gear die, 

(thanks Yvonne for this great idea)

Pull tabs are from soda cans too, and the metall plate under 

the gears are from the old PlayStation 3 motherboard that 

Marius had replaced with a new one

 

 The metall fans are  made from  the  outside ring  on the can

and cut in to and spread out as fans.

Flower embelishments are from x-mas card and I kept them 

for a "rainy day"  and was perfect here 

Only screw brads, glue and paint was bougth for the purpose 

of scrapbooking.The rest is recycled materials.
