ARTastic August 2015 Creating a Background in Black and White

Happy Scrappy  Weekend :)
It is August 15th and a new DT reveal is out over at
ARTastic.
This month the focus is on creating a background using any kind of
media. This time I chose to focus on patterned papers and washitape,
creating a background under the photo with a divers mix of
funky pattern paper strips mixed with the washi tape, all in only
black and white.

This is my finished LO
The owl from the gorgeous inspiration picture below,
made me think of this photo of my son

By Kirra Jamison with Over the Moon

I added a few close ups as well, even though there isn't many
 details to show....

If you normaly don't work with mixed media you can
still join in on our challenge at ARTastic
being creativ by using your fun patterned papers.
Just tell us what inspired you and shared it with us :)

Thank you for taking time stopping by my blog today :)
Wish you a Fun and Creative Weekend ;)

ARTastic July 2015 Water or Liquids "Rainy Day" Shadow-box card

Hello everyone, and
Happy Rainy-Scrappy Day
What a lovely summer weather to stay inside for papercrafting lol
I used the opportunity to make a shadow-box card  for
the ARTastic  CT in July, where the challenge
CRITERIA is to use water (liquid) in some way on your page
(spray ink, paint, watercolours etc

This year It has been a rather miserable spring and early summer
here in Norway , with lots if rain and low temperature,
so this month's challenge picture was perfect for me ;)
I have made a box card with "a rainy day" stamp.
I made my own pattern paper using stamps and stencils with
Distress ink and stain,  Dylusion spray ink, Glimmer Mist,
acrylic paint and water with a spray mist.
Every layer was dried well before adding the next one.
Now it is your turn to have some fun with wet medias.
Can't wait to see what you want to share with us :)

The making of my box-card was inspired by the
this fantstic watercolour picure below

made by Shirley Charlton (aka Shirlroma)
with  her Umbrellas/wet street

Here are some close ups of the front..

The inside was stamped with a woodgrain pattern stamp

A pannel was added for a sentiment

and this fab umbrella has been waiting in my
chip/wood-veneer board stash to be used on a wet/rainy day
paper project, and finally it's turn has come lol...
and it wont be long before it's "siblings" ;) will find
"a new home" as well with this winther weater we have.

Thanks for stoping by today, and if you pop over to
ARTastic
you can see our Mid month reveal.

Keep scrapping....stay Happy....in the rain ;)

ARTastic June 2015 Wood Veneer and/or Birds : A Vintage TAG

Happy Scrappy Monday :)
I hope you had a great weekend with some spare time to do
scrappbooking or other paper crafts.

What do you think about our  ARTastic challenge picture  this month?
For me it is" how can you not be inspired by this?"
it's such a fun and delightful piece of Art.

Here is the tag I made for  ARTastic CT
June Challenge: Wood veneer and/or Birds

Inspired : by  Bird King by Luka Va

and this is the backside  of the tag with space for a sentiment
It was of course the birds and the wood that inspired me,
and also  to make a tag  this time with space for a sentiment.
To follow  the  criterias, I have been using birchbark and
wood veneer hearts and papers with bird pattern

Here are 3 close ups of the front of the tag
Birchbark is such a fab material to work with
and gives a nice soft texture

and here below are 3 from the revers side

I just fell in love with this gorgeous bird pattern paper

ARTastic May 2015 "STARS"

Hi there :)
Today I want to share with you, a card I made for
ARTastic mid month reveal,  with criteria STARS.
May is a month of confirmations in Norway, and the tradition
is that more or less everyone has a confirmation either within a chuch
or a  human ethics sosciety, wich means a lot of cards are
made in May and I like to make untraditional ones...
....like this one with stars for a girl

inspired by this supercool picture
made by Sara Beetson with
The Return of the Young Prince

I have  kept this  pink-star wraping paper since
Christmas as I really liked the texture and colours on it,
saving it for a rainy day ...
a bit of lace underneath for a softer look and creating
more layers and texture
Here is the inside of the card with a small tag to write on
and I spiked it up with stamping a few stars

To see some more creative star inspired art work,
please come and visit us at ARTasic and we love to
see how it inspired you :)

Thank you for stoping by today,
it is so nice of you to take a moment of your preacious time

ARTastic in April 2015 Swirls

Hello there :)
It is Spring time in Norway,
or at least in that part of Norway where I live,
so as my DT project, I have made
a spring LO for this months Challenge over at
ARTastic, where the criteria is to use swirls

our ART  inspiration in April  " Frozen Music"
is made by Roy de Maistre

Most of my background
was made by using my Gellipad and acrylic paints

here you can see the swirly  flowers I have made my self,

and here is a close up of  one of them

and some swirly close ups too

ART as inspiration for paper crafting is fun and
gives endless opportunities.
I hope you would like to give it a try and come and play
along with our April challenge at ARTastic :)

Thank you for stopping by today :)

ARTastic in March 2015

Hi there
It is  mid March  and it is time for the second  team reveal
over at ARTastic
This month we feature a delightful work by Barbara Hanrahan
called The Dog, the Cat,
and here  below is my interpretation of the
inspiration picture

It was the colours and patterns that inspired me
to make this LO  with this photo of my kids,
taken at Lizard Point  in Cornwall.
It was such a blustery day where the rain
came in sideways from the sea...
but oh my word how much fun we had :)

CRITERIA - please use a quote or saying

...and here is my saying

I love the mix of secondary colours together, and it works
so well on a mixed media page.

these litte wooden cameras are so cute and
can be coloured to fit on any type of page, card
or other paper projects

I bought these little cog wheels in a small
bead and pearls shop in St. Ives in cornwall,
so what better page to use them on than this one...

I hope you will pop over to ARTastic  to see
the first reveal in March as well, and what the
talented DT  ladies has come up with.

Thanks for stopping by today :)

ARTastic in February 2015 "Colour Palette"

Hello There and thanks for popin' in
It is  the mid month reveal over at
ARTastic
and this time I have upcycled an "old" frame I have had for ages, as the
measurements on it is a bit odd to fit a picture in it..
...any way here it is, my finished frame with a photo of my DD
and her best friend at the year 7 school prom

inspired by this gorgeous picture below

made by Joshua Miles
Challenge criteria is to use the colour palette

It is such a gorgeous inspiration picture this month and
I fell in love with the colour palette.
Even on the photo (of my DD and her friend at their year 7 prom)
I altered the colours on the computer before printing it,
to fit in with the inspiration picture.

I used lots of different textures, paint and spray inks
and some bling inbetween

If you pop over to ARTastic you will find different
types of paper crafting, and tutorials every month as well
as fab challenge prizes.  We would love to see what you come up with

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment behind
HUGS x
