Recycled at ARTastic

Time is moving on far to fast.
Not sure about you but I can't belive it is almost July

ARTastic has a great challenge with a difference this month
called "Some Environmental Inspiration"
This is what it said:
World Environment Day is celebrated June 5th,
so in honour of this day I thought we might all participate
in a challenge with a difference.
Introducing Robin's Nest by environmental artist

Criteria - the use of recycled material to feature prominently
on your work (ie minimal commercial products).
Hint - think ephemera and recycled items

 Here is my LO

I have used an old Curiosity Killed the cat record

The cover is used as the bg and the record it self on top.
I used tissue paper with glue and seal to cover the record
and painted with copper acrylic and  3 matallic Distress stains
Left overs from a hexagon mesh die was glued on top and more
acrylic paint, distress and Cosmic shimmerz was added

The gears are made of a soda can and TH  gear die,
(thanks Yvonne for this great idea)
Pull tabs are from soda cans too, and the metall plate under
the gears are from the old PlayStation 3 motherboard that
Marius had replaced with a new one

The metall fans are  made from  the  outside ring  on the can
and cut in to and spread out as fans.
Flower embelishments are from x-mas card and I kept them
for a "rainy day"  and was perfect here

Only screw brads, glue and paint was bougth for the purpose
of scrapbooking. The rest is recycled materials.

You still have a day or so to join in on this great challenge
Thanks for stopping by today,
I appreciate you are taking the time

If you like something different of a challenge, why not
visit Yvonne's blog Do More with Less
and join on a challenge I'm hosting
Upcycling and creating with Aluminium Foil.
Would love to see what you can come up with :)

Wish you all a Happy and creative weekend :)

Stencil Art at ARTastic

Hello every one, hope it's been a great week so far.
I'm a bit excited to day as this is my first sneak peak
revealing my first GD page.
It is all happening over at

I used 5 different stencils/mask
Diamonds: yellow  TA Glimmer mist
Chevrons: Black Promarker
Trees: Texture paste mixed with acrylics
Chicken wire: Gesso with acrylics
Negative of Distorted Behive, on the skirt: Dylusions
Can you spot the "blingy" shoes on picture below?
The Design team has made some fantastic Pages
finding inspiration in this  Stencil Art picture made by
Michael Duncan with Tea Time 2012
(a handcut 35 layer stencil).

I have  a prize as well, so why not join in on the fun
and play along.

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment,
it is very much apreciated

International Scrapbooking Day

is still celebrating International scrapbooking Day with
a fun challenge including taking a photo of
 your scrap space.
Here is mine, looking a bit untidy after still working
on LOs for my nephews album up until I left
Friday night going to Norway. It was a last minute desition
to stay over at Gatwick airport instead of leaving early Sat
morning and be stuck in traffic.
So this is what it looked like when I left home
 late Friday evening lol ;)

It is normally tidy when I start on a new LO, but funny
enough it looks like this, a bit untidy when I'm done.
Wonder why  ;)

So When I am Scrapbooking I'm in "Scrap Mode"
dissapearing into my own little world of creativeness.
I'm sure a burglar could enter without me noticing :P
(but please don't tell them lol)
Some times my daughter (11) joins me and we have lots
of fun together with stamps, mist, stencils, acrylics
and bits and bobs making tags, which is her favourite
craft activity.

It's been fun looking into other scrappers scrap space,
Thanks for stopping by, looking at my mess lol.

Happy Scrap to You all :)
I do appologize for not visiting all your inspiering blogs
over the last couple of days. Although being on sort of
holiday to celebrate my nephews confirmation on Thursday,
it has been busy days helping my mom and sister preparing
for it, and making the last couple of pages for his album.
Tomorrow I have to make the cards too, so I'll have to wait until I
get back home to England to post it all.

I do have a very exciting news, preposted,  going live
here on  my blog tomorrow.
Until then, a good night from me in Norway

April Inspiration at ARTastic

Hello everyone and Happy Sunday!
Time flies and last month I felt I was behind with
everything all the time....
but I have caught up with my self lol ;)
and have managed to join in on the challenge
at ARTastic early this time. The DT  has made some
fantastic projects to inspire you together with a GD
Here is my entry LO
.... the ART inspiration this month is this
 fantastic picture below
by the
Australian Indigenous Artist, Trevor Nickolls with his piece Warmun Mandala.

....and criteria is: Use these colours on your entry
why not pop over to have a look and join in  :)

Here are some close ups,
the photo is of Tirill with black hat and black
and red sun glasses
I used black bazzil  and stamped with white acrylic paint with an embossing folder in the middle
at the back. I cut open a circle and folded in to the front,
and placed the photo in opening at the back.
I love those little figures on the inspiration picture
so I made a cirkle of baking paper and cut out
in the old fashion way so they all hold hands lol
Baking paper is good to use when you want a
rougher finish as the pain will peel of a bit.
I used red acrylic and black pen to make
fake stitching

Nice of you to pop around to visit my blog
and thanks for your lovely comments

Hope you had a Fab and creative weekend
:)

Geometric Paterns

ARTastic Inspirational Challenge Blog
is having a FUN challenge in September

Criteria – Black background and solid use of geometric patterns
so i did it with a twist
Here is what I came up with
I used white cardstock and coloured  in  patches with oilpastels
of different colours and covered completely with
black acrylic paint. The patern was created by scraping off
the black paint revealing the bright colours under.
The first photo  printed of Marius ended up stripy with black
ink so I used it and cut Marius out of the second one
and placed on top, giving it the same effect as
the background.
All sorts of Embelishments, some from Prima and TH,
a piece from a wine cork and measuring tape.
I've had this  cute little spider for a while and it kind of
fitted in on the web
The photo is of Marius taken this summer when we were
on holiday in Norway. My mom  wanted to visit Rjukan,
here on Gaustatoppen , 1883m.o.h on a fantastic
clear day where it was possible to view
1/6 of Norway.

Thanks for stopping by
Wish you a creativ week :)

August Inspiration at ARTastic

ARTastic Inspirational Challenge Blog
is having  their CTM Helene Bogren's work as their inspiraton
this month.
She was inspired by a Sweedish painter
Carl Otto Hulten
There was 3 options and I took the 3.
.....and here is how I got inspired

This time I started with the photos. I took a A4 shrink
plastic and measured 4x4 of the dimond shaps on
the back paper, cut  2  frames and heat shrinked for
so to attached the picture at the back of them.
I guess It was the 2 big dimond shapes on
Carl Hulten's painting that
started me on this LO,but instead of the empty
blackness I used  the space for happy pictures :)
A dobble book side is dabbed  and stamped with  gesso when glued to
back paper. I drew orange dimonds on it and some greeen cheverons.
Orange and pink fine sisal was used under the pictures.
All paterned paper are from G45 Magic of Oz,
incl. the 3 little cut out tin men,
below is one of them ..
Flowers are of different origins
I'm not sure about the top left corner, but some buttons and a dimond shrink
plastic was added to a clock patterend paper which had a bit of gesso and
 paint on first.
....And then i couldn't help my self I doodled a creature looking
down on the tin man, any way, it is stuck there now
so it all has to stay :P

Opinions and comments are very much appriciated
Thanks for stopping by :)
